Girls are getting taller?

I am 5ft 8 not growing any more. Anyhow they say the average is 5ft 4 for a girl and 5ft 9 for guys. I dont believe that for a minute!! Everyday for the past few months I stand near girls at the train station, bus stop etc. etc. And they are NOT wearing heels. The vast majority are taller than me!!! What's going on. The average can't be 5ft 4 for girls here. Its gotta be 5ft 7 minimum. But whats going on girls are going huge. I feel so short even around girls here!! girls how tall are you? Compared to other guys u know?? and how come girls are so tall these days? (or am i short?(

Well Im 5'8 and iM fairly tall compared to girls here-- I would say that 5'6ish would be the average girl! I think it depends on where you are living and where you grew up!

Just remember that height doesn't really matter. The average for girls is shorter like you said, but thats nationwide.





Average wise your city could be 5.7 but when considered with the rest of your country it could be 5.4 or whatever.





If you feel short, go talk to someone who is 5.5.

I had my growth spurt %26amp; havent grown so i think i stopped.


But im mostly an inch taller than guys my age. (14)


But the sophs %26amp; upperclassmen are all taller than me.
Reply:Animals are pumped full of growth hormones, so the meat and chicken people eat makes them grow too.
Reply:Studies are starting to show that American men are actually shrinking and that American women are getting taller. They haven't been able to explain it, but do suggest it is the growth hormones put into the feed for cows/chickens/pigs on why women are growing. But at the same time-if women are getting taller because of that, why aren't the men as well? Men in other countries are still remaining taller (average is anywhere from 6'0 to 6'2) while the US average is 5'10.





I am 5'8 without heels on. With some of my heels-I can come in at around 6'2, though. All of my sisters and best friends are only 5'3-5'5 at the tallest.

Reply:Your not short, just be happy with that. Some guys are only five foot six inches. Oh, and to add to that...no way. Girls are so not getting taller, cuz if they are really want a break of that! I am only five one and a half!!! SSOO SHORT! And its kinng me because my boyfriend is five eleven. But no thats not true, most girls stop at at least five six, but you know everyone is different!! You never know how tall the next girl or guy could be!
